A Testimony of God's Faithfulness

Stacey Troxel - March 2007

This is the journey of a father and daughter learning to understand God's faithfulness.  As Stacey and I (Steve) create this page, we want to make sure we are clear about the message being presented.  Our trials have been long and painful - 10 years so far.  Often when we read about the Prodigal Son in Luke 15, we rejoice when the son returns home and the Father kills the fatted calf.  But we fail to understand that this is most likely just the beginning of the story.

As you read through this page, we hope you will be encouraged that God is very, very faithful.  He loved us so much that "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).  This is a love which is patient and always ready to forgive.  He now calls us to demonstrate this same kind of love to others.  This means that when we minister to someone who struggles - whether that means a child in rebellion or a friend being consumed with addiction, or someone in deep need of Salvation - we must be patient and remain committed to loving through what may be a long, long process of coming Home.

Stacey first ran away from home when she was 13.  There were certainly issues leading up to this time, but this event will serve as the beginning of our story.  Following a few very turbulent teenage years, Stacey left home at 17 and joined the Army at 18.  Her addiction to drugs led to being arrested and sent to prison in 2002.  She was released after 20 months but became addicted to drugs again during her time on parole.  After spending another month in prison she was released and has continued the process of trusting, falling, and learning to trust again.  We have both learned that the only thing in life which never changes is God - He is ALWAYS faithful!

This page contains messages I wrote as a father trying to understand faith related to trusting God when your daughter is in the enemy camp.  There are also several messages written by Stacey as she witnessed God continuing to pursue her and as she grew in her faith through many trials.  Above all, we pray this testimony will bring glory and honor to God and encourage others to trust Him more!

Prison Release Video

Stacey was granted parole and was released on January 16th 2004 after spending 20 months in prison.  We picked her up in San Diego and then interviewed her the same afternoon.  The 17 minute video of this interview is presented in the hope that others will be blessed and perhaps not make some of the same mistakes.  Feel free to use this video in any manner you believe would bring glory and honor to God.
