On December 26th, 2004, my wife, our two younger children and I, packed up our travel trailer and began to drive to the southwestern United States.  We knew we would make an initial stop in Phoenix AZ to visit my wife's mother, but we also knew that God was calling us to trust Him for the rest of the trip.  For the last several years I've had an increasing desire to speak to groups about the truths God has made real in my life.  I've often felt like Jeremiah when he said "His word was in my heart like a burning fire, shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not" (Jeremiah 20:9).  Remember that I was trained as an Engineer (see My Story), so the thought of speaking God's Word in front of groups still held a certain amount of fear and anxiety - yet I knew God was calling.

We returned home on March 18th after 83 days on the road, stayed home for 16 days and departed again on the 4th of May for the southeastern states.  During this trip, God opened some wonderful doors for me to speak to individuals, lunch groups, small gathering, and home fellowship groups - we were even able to sing some praise songs with my kids.  Every time I spoke it was with the desire to communicate truth in a way that would encourage people to trust God more and see His desire for a relationship of love that invades every aspect of our life.  Through a wonderful friend in San Diego, I was given my first opportunity to preach a message in Sunday morning services (at least in the US - see Africa Ministry).  This was such a blessing!  I want to especially thank Pastor Chuck Wooley for trusting the leading of God's Spirit and allowing me to stand in the pulpit.
