Mombasa
is on the coast of Kenya.
Pastor Robert (on the right) was my host and
Swahili translator every place I preached. His
church building (left) and children's
ministry (below).
Pastor Robert is a gifted
and well trained pastor
who has the desire to
train up other pastors
throughout Kenya.
I'm praying about how to
best support him.
My
host family while in Mombasa. Faith (left)
became my sweetheart. The people of
Kenya are very gracious and welcoming -
Karibu means welcome!
I ate in several different homes in Kenya
and all meals were served on a small table in
what we in the West would call the living room.
I was always served traditional meals
and everything was wonderful!!
My bathroom took a little getting used to.
The water was not working
so buckets were brought in each day.
I was actually very fortunate. Traditional
Swahili construction is communal where
several families will share one bathroom.
Goodbyes at the airport were always sad.
This
church invited me to speak on a
Sunday afternoon. I was over an hour
late but they waited and put on an awesome
music program. One little boy stole the show.
I'll try to post a video.
The Kenyan people definitely have a heart
for worship and are very eager to learn.
This was a lunch group where I spoke.
They met
every day at lunch for an hour
of worship and
study.
